Looking for a second supplier for 2, high volume aluminum rings ~1" OD. Looking for turning or stamping quotes. Last years quantities were 70k of each part. Similar parts will likely be given to chosen vendor in the future.
  • Material: Aluminum 5053, Vendor Supplied
  • Finish: Anodize, Flat Black, MIL-A-8625 Type II Class 2
  • Quote in 10k, 50k and 100k volumes (each part)
  • Time frame: Lead time 6 weeks give/take depending on volume, to be ordered in next 6 months
  • RFQ Ending: 11/1/19

For those looking to turn these parts from round stock, 5053/5052 is difficult to source in round stock. Wrought (NOT cast) 6061 is also acceptable. More detail below:

I've had a further conversation with our client on this job. They're purpose for 5052/5053 was to select a low-outgasing grade of aluminum for use in vacuum chambers.

I've looked into outgasing grades and it looks like most grades of aluminum are acceptable including 2000, 4000, 5000, and 6000 series, as long as they are wrought and NOT cast.
