Knifemaker
I am not sure if this is the right place to post, if not sorry!
I used to buy my steel ground, but due to some issues with the supplier (Crucible) I can't do it that way any more.
So I am checking into doing things a little differently. The parts are knife blades.
1) Material type CPM154 stainless steel
2) Is a material quote required or is material supplied. supplied by me
3) Quantity it would depend at least 20-50 at a time
4) Drawings should be immediately available or necessary specs. yes
5) Required time frame 2 week turn around would be ideal
6) RFQ ending time 30 days
7) Full contact information should be supplied upon first contact by email from both parties, neither should have to reply to @.com
8) If you the RFQ poster needs help in some of the technical areas then that should be made know initially.
9) Make known any special treatments/finishes not necessarily related to the machining process. the steel would be heat treated to 60 rc prior to grinding
I am looking for someone to develop a regular deal with. I use 2 sizes of steel, 5/32 and 3/16, about half and half. What I want to do is send the grinder heat treated blades and have them run the mill stock off them to the desired thickness. +/- .001
Thanks in advance,
R/S
