I have designed a hobbyist CNC machine that I am looking at offering as a kit. I have the ability to cut the parts myself using a copy of this machine, but it would be much more efficient on a production level machine. I am just looking for a ballpark figure at the moment to determine what this would do to the overall price I would need to sell the machine at.
I have laid out a version of the machine on a 4x8 sheet to be cut from 3/4" MDF or MDO (open to other suggestions), the initial run would be 10 to 20 copies with additional orders based on sales. I have dxf and Vectric Cut2d (VCarve) files available and have attached 2 pdf, one of the 4x8 layout (which I am sure can be improved upon) and a consolidated parts file that has a little more detail about the individual parts.
Please let me know if any other information is needed, this is all new to me. You can see more about the actually machine in my blog post, a good starting point would be here: http://grumpygeek.com/?p=512.
Thank you,
Don Bailey
