First I'll ramble off the generic stuff.
***** DOMESTIC SUPPLIERS ONLY ***** International quotes will not be considered for this part or any other parts we make. Please do not waste your valuable time sending us a quote or even sending us your contact information if you are not in the US. We have nothing against globalization. Our parts need to be made in the US for a variety of legal reasons.
We have an assembly which we will need quoted. The assembly is made from parts similar to the attached PDF drawing. This is the largest and most challenging because of the edge holes.
The final assembly consists of 3 other types of parts, similar in design to this and we need 4 total assemblies built. For obvious reasons we cannot post the entire assembly of parts to a public forum.
This is a real project that we need to source. This is not a fishing expedition. We also have many other projects ongoing and we are looking for reliable long term suppliers. Whoever is responsive on this RFQ will be considered for other RFQs later.
To be 100% up front, we do not do production work. All of our parts top out at 10 pcs or less. So if your desire is to quote prototypes in order to get our production work, we never have production work.
Any vendor we choose must comply with a number of paperwork requirements in addition to supplying high quality parts. Prior to awarding any contract a vendor must sign our non disclosure agreement. We will also provide our terms and conditions to be reviewed and accepted. We will gladly provide credit references for starting net30 terms or we can pay by credit card.
There are additional requirements for paperwork written below. Please note these in your reply and include the costs to purchase materials, certified helicoils, install the helicoils, and apply anodize in addition to your machining costs. Offers that require us to supply helicoils, plating or material will not be considered responsive. We want to award a contract and have finished parts arrive. The only part we wish to handle in house is the laser engraving of the part numbers.
Now for the more technical stuff
Please quote the following:
8 pcs 09011-4025-005, 8 weeks ARO delivery, target price $625/pc or less
The terms of this quote are as follows:
1. Please indicate FOB terms and if FOB origin freight collect, provide a shipping cost estimate.
2. If you do not indicate your freight terms, FOB Destination, Freight Prepaid will be assumed.
3. If awarded this contract, response to weekly status reports will be required and will consist of:
a) Written (email acceptable) indication of percentage of project complete
b) Written (email acceptable) indication of percentage likelihood of on time delivery
4. We will be responsible for all laser engraving (if any) on all parts that require it.
5. Only drawings marked as released shall be used for manufacture of parts. Drawings marked with any version of the term “pre” or without a release date shall never be used for manufacture.
6. ***** THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT ***** If there is ever a discrepancy between a 2D manufacturing drawing and any .STP or any other format geometry file, the 2D drawing will take precedence. Vendors shall notify Us immediately of any such discrepancies. Any .STP file provided is provided for REFERENCE ONLY. The 2D drawing takes precedence over the .STP file. Only .STP files are provided for reference. No other file format shall be provided.
7. Always manufacture according to revisions specified in PO. Drawings will be included with any PO awarded and will likely be a newer revision than those used for quotes. Any price changes must be mentioned within 48 hours of receipt of PO or none will be permitted.
8. This project requires the use of certified materials, plating, and thread inserts.
A. Material certifications must indicate original foundry, alloy, chemical composition and tested strength indicating the material meets or exceeds the specifications shown on the drawings. Domestic sourced material is strongly preferred.
B. Thread inserts certificates of conformance must at least indicate insert is manufactured IAW the specified part number.
9. The company awarded this contract will supply all hardware.
10. The aluminum protective finish will be BLUE anodize. We will provide a sample part that is blue anodized. This sample shall be used to match the blue anodize color on all aluminum part supplied at final delivery. The supplied sample must be returned to us with final delivery.
11. These particular parts have ONE missing tolerance that we will correct before final release. They are missing a straightness tolerance of .0015" per 1" of distance. This is the same straightness ALCOA uses for its stock material.
12. It should be obvious from the requirement for a 63 finish on all surfaces but you CANNOT use stock surfaces and 1/2" plate to make these parts. They must be started from thicker material in order to meet the surface finish requirements.
