Default Need some Alum. racing part made. Mill&lathe work.

I am a CNC machinist, and made this prototype at my job after hours for my personal mustang. But my boss wont let me make 10 more. I wrote the program using EZ-Cam V15 software and did the manual lathe work and milled the pattern/slots on a Supermax VMC.

Finish needs to be good (32fin) or better since these will be fully polished once I get them back. The tread is 1" NPT that must engage 1" deep on thread gauge (, radius around the bottom of the neck is .090, radius around the top of the port is .060, the backside is a full radius entry ( used a 3/8" radius corner rounding 4flute cutter on the mill), neck diameter is 1.800 +/- .010", slots are .320 wide +.01/-.005 tollerance, slot width is .490" +/-.005", total part height is 1.250" +/-.010, flange thickness is .250 +/- .005". 5" round stock would be the size to use for this project. T6 aluminum. I have the EZ Cam geometry file as well. Anyone have an idea about how much it would cost to make 10 of these. Somewhere in the south/southwest would be good. Im in Houston, TX.

Thank you!

What I would do, is machine all the lathe/thread work, and then chuck on a mill table and cut the pattern and slots and entry radius unless you programed the CNC lathe to form the radius.

I WILL NOT send any of my work overseas. Also, my boss is going to machine these IN-house at my work, so unless it falls threw, this RFQ is closed for now.

Default rfq

Morning Aaron,
Just so you know, our shop is located in Meadville PA in the good 'ol USA! We are a small town but have a very high consentration of tool & die shops. Probably in the neighborhood of 300 within a 50 mile radius...Some small, some large. We also have all the supporting industries ie: heat treat, plating, anodizing, powder coat, you name it.

If you need a quote on this or any other job in the future please give me a call.
