Attached is a .dxf for 2-d laser cut. I will consider plasma cutting as well but I have some technical questions about the effects on the edges of the material.
Quantity will be whatever can be nested in a 4X8 sheet. 306 stainless .080 thickness. +/- .025" on the outside, +/- .010" on the inside pocket. The closer you are to northern Utah the better, if not then quote for shipping as well. Quote is to include material, labor and average lead time. I am not in a hurry yet, unless these sell like hot cakes. Tumble and polish to satin finish would also be nice, I would like this process quoted seperately. Can't Find 306 Ss With A .08 Thickness, But Can Waterjet Approximately 830 Parts Out Of A 4 X 8 Sheet Of 304 Ss At .075 Thick For $5.98 A Piece.
Can Also Get 316 Ss And A Thickness Of .09 For A Little More Money. Waterjet Leaves A Nice Finish On The Cut And Can Hold Required Tolerances Easily. Shipping And Finishing Not Included Shipping Will Be Whatever Standard Ups Ground Charge Is From Maryland. STANDARD LEAD TIME IS 3-4 WEEKS BUT CAN BE NEGOTIATED. CALL (301)449-1135 OR E-MAIL jwculbreth@cardinalscientific.com IF YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS. THANKS, JUSTIN |

To everyone,
Sorry for the confusion about the material specs. After talking with some suppliers, I find that 304ss .075" thickness is the way to go. The part was reverse engineered, then modified, and I had to guess on the grade of stainless. The part I measured was .079, but that .004" difference is not critical to the function. I'm a machinist by trade and I rarely work with sheet metal, so I didn't know the standard guages. I am still accepting quotes until I have about 6 to choose from. Thanks, Chris |
