Hey guys,
I'm currently machining the attached part out of .125 x .75 303 flat stock. It looks like production is going to ramp up, so I need to see if there is a better way. I'm not current on waterjetting / plasma / laser cutting, so I wanted to see what people would be willing to do this for, and what tolerances could be expected. I have to do machining / fabrication after this stage (roundovers /drilling / depression milled out of the center / bending to final shape), so I need to know if it's even worth subbing out this part of it. I've attached a jpg of the finished product so you can see what I end up with. Thanks for your time. Burt |

you don't show a dimension as to how far back the slots go, or what the radius' are.
Can you provide a .dxf of the flat part and what are you looking for in qty's? snocat |

Look at stamping the part. Two ways to do it. Get it in flat bar and punch the end. Or stamp the whole part.

Hey Snocat,
Would you prefer a 3d model? If so, tell me what format is best for you. Thanks, Burt |

304 is fine. I'm also updating the PDF to reflect tolerances and show the machining operations that will occur after the piece is blanked out. A few people wanted to know if I was interested in having them finish the part in it's entirety, so that's why the extra features are there. Call or email if you want other formats, 2D or 3D, or have any questions. The roundovers are probably going to be achieved via tumbling.

Jeff,
Thought about stamping. Any ideas where to get started with die-makers, etc. Never worked in that field before. Thanks, Burt |

Well they are all over. If you want to send me dwg or dxf I can get you started with some ideas, and if you like I can price out a die for you. We also have a 30 ton press to run the job.
