We are happy for him.

He is lucky to find someone to do his work at a loss.
The cheapest bidder always supplies the best product with no corners cut.

Actually, lstool asked for a quote nothing more nothing less, all this other negative voicing of opinions thrown at him in his post was not being fair to him, at least in my opinion.

However, speaking of fair, fairness is (or was) a two way street. Wonder if lstool will be selling these things for the same per piece profit margins he is willing to let others work for in malking them.

I kinda, sorta, maybe, don't think so

this is the only problem i see with this forum. these guys come on here for FREE hoping they can get machining for FREE. they have 1000 people bid on 1 job and they can pick and choose who they want based on everybody cutting each other throat and giving them rock bottom price. it's no way that guy could make that part for $2.85 with material. no way.

Here is a quote from the closed post:

Job has been awarded to a local vendor for $2.85 ea. with a blanket purchase order for 1300 pcs. with a release of 325 pcs. every 3 months samples have been recieved and accepted wothout a P.O. even being issued! (this is how jobs get awarded, go the extra mile, leave the tissues behind)

Talk about B.S getting deep, if this is for real please post the shops' number so I can send all of our work their.

They are also extremely fast, closed on the 27th and had qualified samples the same day, truly amazing. FYI, if your going to lie please make sure you are a little more accurate with the time line and sequence of events.

I Agree! i priced CRS here in Calif. and the going rate was $2.30 a pound. so in order for this guy to make a profit. he must be stealing the material. ok, i'm done with this subject.

When I did the cost it was $2.73 per each one, and that is sending our truck to pick up the steel from Alro.

Well, I didn't quote, or made any comment, but I followed the thread.

I can do those parts for $2.85 each, at $25/hr rate,
4 minutes cycle time and material cost $1.00, giving away setup & programming time.

From my perspective is still a bussiness. Since I am not using a $120,000 machine but a $5,000 one, and here the income for a guy with an engineer title is less than $1,000 a month.

I didn't enter the competition because I am really behind schedule with a customer I got here, so deliver his job is priority number one. But even if I quoted a job like that, I wouldn't go for less than $7.00 each.

So the point is not to degrade the prices on USA so everybody become poor, but to upgrade our own income here in the third world, so everybody gets "rich"

Don't you think that, Arty?

Best regards:
Everardo

Default Hello

Hello,Im new to this site as far as being a registered member however,I have watched a variety of issues without comment. My personal opinion is that maybe their should be a smoke and flames post on this site for people to go and pout and cry and voice opinions about such issues as the one on hand.At least their is a site that shops and individuals can get on the same page. Some basic math and thought should be done to eliminate issues such as this one, therefore after doing the math and thought process you can ask any further question and gather additional info and if you cant do it then dont quote or comment. This site is wonderful tool to bring people and business together.............

Everardo,

How do you get the steel so cheap, that is my problem. We are too small to buy it by semi loads and the metal sellers are really planting it deep. That part also shows a cross drilled hole and I believe threaded, running that part with 4 minute cycle times requires a machine with live tooling and a sub spindle to finish the back side.
